My name is Shaun and I’ve been invited to be your undies101 trainer! I’ll be posting on Monday’s, so look for me to start off your week. I’m still new around here, but I love the positive attitude and accepting nature of this blog! Plus, I really can’t complain about guys showing off their underwear :) I’m partial to jock straps, Under Armour, and those football player spandex shorts.
To give some background, I’m an N.S.C.A. certified personal trainer with experience in strength training, functional training, and special populations. I’ve worked with a variety of clients, of all shapes and ages, and I’m constantly impressed by the power of physical activity to improve lives. I believe in physical activity as a site for personal growth and for building confidence. And nothing is more sexy than confidence!
I’m currently in college going for my Ph.D., so like many of you I don’t have tons of free time. I work out 4-5 times a week, but part of that is simply to provide a mental break from reading and writing papers. In a busy work week, my workout time is an oasis. In regards to my own physical activity, I enjoy weight training, yoga, and hiking. Although I personally am not a fan of running, I have become interested in the various obstacle course races like Tough Mudder that have become popular over the past few years. My goal is to run one of these races with friends in April.
I’m excited to be working with you all over the coming months to help you reach your goals! Wading through the plethora of fad diets and routines is tough work, so feel free to email me with any questions that you have here . I’ll be answering your questions in a post on the 3rd Monday of each month, so please don’t hesitate to ask. Also, my entries are here to inform and challenge you in the coming year, so I’m always open to feedback about what works for you and what doesn’t!
